EuroVelo route 6 has its own visitors’ book

26 février 2012

Didier Perréal, the owner of the Le Relais Vélo in Besançon, has created a visitors’ book for EuroVelo route 6. All travellers who go past his premises are invited to sign it, and since last May, he has already collected more than 200 signatures from visitors from the four corners of the world.

Located alongside the River Doubs in Besançon (25), Le Relais Vélo was already a friendly and practical stopping place along the EV6 route .
It has now become a virtually compulsory stop for people on their long journey.
Indeed, not only can visitors freshen up, have something to eat, have their bicycles repaired and even, sometimes, have small injuries treated (Catherine, the owner’s partner, is a nurse), but now they can enter into the big family of cycle tourists having travelled along the EuroVelo route 6 (whether all of it or just a part of it).
Didier Perréal, the passionate owner of the premises, has created a visitors’ book where all passing cycle tourists may enter their name and a short message.
Didier Perréal even takes a photo of them, and already has an amazing collection of photographs.
In all, there are currently more than two hundred signatures.
from countries that are sometimes a very long way away from the Franche-Comté region: South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States.
Leafing through the visitors’ book is like travelling even further than the Black Sea or the Atlantic!

There are plans for this visitors’ book to be put online soon; we shall let you know as soon as this happens.
